MONDAY:  Civics preview.  Begin writing group/classroom constitutions.
TUESDAY:  1st Trimester Pre-Test.  continue with constitution writing.
WEDNESDAY:  Complete constitutions and share groups' work.
THURSDAY:  Begin Ch. 6, Citizenship and the Constitution.  Section 1, pgs. 178-186.
FRIDAY:  Contitution Day.  20 minute video celebrating the U. S. Constitution.  Continue with Ch. 6, Section 1,  Understanding the Constitution. 

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 19,2011

MONDAY:  Complete Section 1 Reading.  Begin Section 1 Review, pg. 186, #'s 1a-4b.  Mr. Karle and classes will complete Review together.
TUESDAY:  Complete Section 1 Review.  Begin Section 2, pgs. 216-221 Reading. 
WEDNESDAY:  Complete Section 2 Reading.  Begin Section 2 Review, pg. 221, #'s 1a-4b.  Mr. Karle and classes will again work to complete review together.
THURSDAY:  Complete Section 2 Review.  Begin Section 3, pgs. 222-225.
FRIDAY:  Complete Section 3 Reading.  Begin Section 3 Review, pg. 225, #'s 1a-3b.  Complete as Homework.  Students will begin work in class and complete for homework over the weekend IF not completed in class.

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 26, 2011

MONDAY:  Check in Section 3 Homework.  Go over answers.  Issue Ch. 6 Study Guide and begin working on.
TUESDAY:  Continue working on Ch. 6 Study Guide.
WEDNESDAY:  Check Ch. 6 Study Guide info and review.
THURSDAY:  Ch. 6 Test.  43 questions total.  39 multiple choice, 4 True and False.
FRIDAY:  Return ch. 6 Tests and go over.  Issue grades to date.

WEEK OF OCTOBER 3-7, 2011

MONDAY:  Read Section 4, Ch. 4, pgs. 135-139.  Reading will be done silently and individually.  Complet the Section Re3view, pg. 139, 1a-3b. as Homework, due Tuesday.
TUESDAY:  Check Section 1 Review Homework.  Introduce Ch. 5.
WEDNESDAY:  Read and Complete Section 1, pgs. 152-155.  During the reading the class will take notes on Key Terms and People.  Assign Section 1 Handout (10Fill-in Q's) as Homework.
THURSDAY:  Check Section 1 Handout Homework.  Read Origins of the Constitution, pgs. 156-157.  Begin Section 2, pgs. 158-162.  Read as a class.
FRIDAY:  Complete Section 2.  Students will create 8 Q and A's.  The Q's must be a variety of multiple-choice, fill-in the blank, and or complete sentence answers as Homework.  Due Monday.

WEEK OF OCTOBER 10-14,2011

MEAP WEEK:  TUESDAY-THURSDAY.  Those days will have adjusted schedules.  ALL classes will meet.  Early to bed and a good breakfast for all test takers, please!

MONDAY:  Check Section 2 Homework (8 Student-made questions and answers)  Review questions with class.  Introduce and begin Section 3, pgs. 163-168.
TUESDAY:  Begin/Complete Section 3.
WEDNESDAY:  Complete Section 3 and issue Section 3 Matching assignment.  complete in class, check, and review work.  Read Ben Franklin, pg169.
THURSDAY:  Begin Section 4, pgs. 170-173.  Give directions for Section 4 assignment:  Create a drawing from an event, happening, key term or person from the section in a question form.
FRIDAY:  Complete Section 4 Drawing Assignment.

WEEK OF OCTOBER 17-21, 2011

MONDAY:  Complete Section 4 Drawing.  Drawing will include a question and visual to represent an idea from the section.  Students who complete the drawings before the end of the hour will receive the Ch. 5 Study Guide.
TUESDAY:  Check and review drawings for understanding.  Continue to work on Ch. 5 Study Guides.
WEDNESDAY:  Work on Ch. 5 Study Guides.
THURSDAY:  Final check and review of ch. 5 Study Guide info.
FRIDAY:  Ch. 5 Test.

WEEK OF OCTOBER 24-28, 2011

MONDAY:  Return and go over Ch. 5 Tests.  Provide student grades to date.
TUESDAY:  Overview of Ch. 3:  The English Colonies.  Preview Ch. 4:  The American Revolution.
WEDNESDAY:  Begin Ch. 4, Section 1, pgs. 112-116.  Read and Notes(Key Terms and People).  Issue Vocaubulary Builder to be completed as Homework, Due Thursday.
THURSDAY:  Check Section 1 Vocabulary Builder.  Begin Section 2, pgs. 118-121.  Read and Notes(Key Terms and People).
FRIDAY:  Complete Section 2.  Assign Section Review, pg. 121, #'s 1a-3b.  Complete as Homework, due Monday.

WEEK OF OCTOBER 31-NOVEMBER 4, 2011

MONDAY:  HALF-DAY.  Check Section 2 Review Homework.
TUESDAY:  Perform a play:  The Boston Tea Party.
WEDNESDAY:  Begin Section 3, pgs. 126-134.  Notes:  Key Terms and People.
THURSDAY:  HALF-DAY, PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES.  Complete Section 3 Reading and notes.  Assign Section 3 Vocab Builder and Declaration of Independence.
FRIDAY:  Complete Section 3 assignment.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 7-11, 2011

MONDAY:  Check Section 3 Vocab Builder and Declaration of Independence Q's.  Issue Ch. 4 Timeline Assessment.
TUESDAY:  NO SCHHOL
WEDNSEDAY:  Work on Ch. 4 Timelines.  Complete as HW.  Due Thursday at the beginning of class.
THURSDAY:  Collect Ch. 4 Timelines.  Issue Ch. 4 Study Guide and answer all Q's.  Study for Test as HW.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 14-18, 2011

MONDAY:  Begin Ch. 7, Section 1, pgs. 234-237.  Copy Key Terms and People list.  Take turns reading paragraphs from section outloud in class.  Issue and complete Section 1 Vocab Builder and Capital Map as Homework.
TUESDAY:  Check Section 1 Vocab Builder HW.  Return Ch. 4 Timelines.  Inform students of Ch. 4 Test scores and Grades-To-Date.
WEDNESDAY:  Begin section 2, pgs 238-242.  Copy Key Terms and People list .  Read Section and issue Section 2 Vocab Builder.  Complete as Homework.
THURSDAY:  Check Section 2 vocab builder Homework.  Begin Section 3, pgs. 243-249.  Key Terms and People list.  Read.

FRIDAY:  Complete Section 1.  Issue Vocab Builder.  Complete as Homework.

WEEK OF DECEMBER 12-16, 2011.

MONDAY:  Check Section 1 Vocab Builder.  "Practice Quiz" on Section 1.  Begin section 2, pgs. 272-277.  Key Terms and People list.
TUESDAY;  Complete Section 2.  Assign Lewis and Clark Map Activity, to be completed as Homework.
WEDNESDAY:  Check Maps.  Key Terms and People list for Section 3.  Assign reading of Section 3, pgs. 278-283, including Section 3 Matching Assignment as Homework.
THURSDAY:  Check Section 3 Matching Homework.  Key Terms and People list for Section 4.  Begin section 4, pgs. 284-287

THURSDAY:  Begin Ch. 9.  Chapter introduction, pgs 294-295.  Begin Section 1, pgs. 298-301.  Copy list of Key Terms and People.  Begin Reading Section.
FRIDAY:  Complete Section 1 read.  Assign Section Review, pg. 301, #'s 1a-3c.  All answers must be in complete sentences to receive full credit.  Due Monday.  Quiz on Section 1 on Monday, 1-9-12.
NOTE:  Ch. 9 Test will be given on Friday, January 13, 2012.  25 Q's.

WEEK OF JANUARY 30-FEBRUARY 3, 2012

MONDAY:  Ch. 10 Test Make-ups.  Issue Ch. 10 Test scores and grades to date.  Intro Ch. 11, pgs. 342-343.  Begin Section 1, pgs. 346-349, Key Terms and People and Read.
TUESDAY:  Complete Section 1 and as a class answer Review questions, pg. 349, 1a-2b as a class.  Issue "Packing for a new life."
WEDNESDAY:  Work on in class with a partner or group of 3 and complete "Packing...Life."  Share decisions.  Begin Section 2, pgs 350-353.
THURSDAY:  Complete Section 2 and answer section review questions toghether as a class.  Begin Movie:  The Alamo.
FRIDAY:  Continue to watch movie.  No matter how far the movie has gone, all classes will be finished at the end of class.

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 6-10, 2012

MONDAY:  Finish watching movie, no matter what!  Review and discuss movie.
TUESDAY:  Copy Section 2 Key Terms and People.  Begin Section 3, pgs 354-363.  Divide class into groups and assign 1 review question from the section for each group.  The groups will read each assigned segment and answer their assigned Q.  Answers will be shared as a class.  Copy Key Terms and People list from Section 3.
WEDNESDAY:  Begin Section 4, pgs. 364-369.  Copy Key Terms and People list.  Read section as a class.  Answer review Q's as a class.
THURSDAY:  Complete Section 4.  Issue Ch. 11 Study Guide.
FRIDAY:  Continue work on Study Guide.
PLEASE NOTE:  Ch. 11 Test will be on Tuesday, 2/14/2012.  Study guides should be taken home and studied for the weekend!!

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 13-17, 2012

MONDAY:  Check Ch. 11 Study Guides and review
TUESDAY:  Ch. 11 Test.  30 Q's Only!  Introduce Ch. 14.
WEDNESDAY:  Issue Ch. 11 Test grades and grades to date for the 2nd Trimester.  Begin Section 1 from Ch. 11, pgs. 338-342.  Key terms and people list and read.
THURSDAY:  Complete Section 1.  Assign students to create 10 Q's from Section 1.  Multiple-choice, matching, fill-in and or short answer.  complete as HW.  If done in class, Q's will be checked and shared in class.
FRIDAY:  Begin Section 3, pgs. 448-453.  Key terms and people list and read.

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 20-24, 2012

MONDAY:  NO SCHOOL.  WINTER BREAK/PRESIDENTS DAY.
TUESDAY:  Reschedule of events from Friday: Isssued "Who Am I' assignment to preview key points in Sections 2-5. Students completed and we checked "Who Am I." Made available Section 3's Key Terms and People list.
WEDNESDAY:Students will complete Key Terms and People list for Section 3. Begin reading and discussing of Section 3, pgs. 448-453. Assign 10 Student Made Questions from section.  Two different types of Q's, with answers are required!  Due as Homework!
THURSDAY:  Check Section 3's student made questions.  Begin Section 4, pgs. 454-459.  Copy list of Key Terms and people.  Begin reading and discussion.
FRIDAY:  Complete Section 4.  Assign 10 Student Made Questions.  Complete as Homework.

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 27-MARCH2, 2012

MONDAY:  Copy week's agenda.  Check in Ch. 14, Section 4's 10 Question Homework and share as a class.  Begin Section 5, pgs. 461-466.  Copy Key Terms and People list.
TUESDAY:  Complete Section 5 and create 10 questions from section.  Complete as Homework.

WEEK OF MARCH 12-16, 2012  3RD TRIMESTER

MONDAY:  Begin Ch. 12.  Discuss new trimester expectations, plans, guidelines, attendance concerns,note taking skills, grading policies, etc.  Begin Section 1, The Industrialization of America, pgs. 380-389.  Copy list of Key Terms and People.  Note, list will also include other Key Topics from each section to be done for 3rd Trimester regularly!
TUESDAY:  Complete Section 1.  Read and take notes.  Students need to review Key Terms/People/Topics list for Section 1 Quiz on Wednesday.
WEDNESDAY:   EARLY RELEASE.   Section 1 Quiz.  10 questions total.  Check and grade Quizzes.  Begin Section 2, Changes in Working Life, pgs. 390-395.  Copy Key Terms and People List. 
THURSDAY:  Complete Section 2 and add notes of key topics.  Review Key Terms/People/Topics list for Section 2 Quiz as HW!

TUESDAY:  ACT Explore Test for 1st hour, last thru 3rd hour.  4th and 6th Hours Review Section 3.  Issue Section 3 Quiz.  Check and record scores.Begin Section 4.  Copy Key Terms and People.
WEDNESDAY:  4th and 6th Hours will have Turning Points present information.  1st -3rd hours:  Review Section 3.  Issue Section 3 Quiz.  Check and record scores.  Begin Section 4.  Copy Section 4 Key Terms and People.  Child Labor in America.
THURSDAY:  4th and 6th hours Turning Points.  1st-3rd Hours.  How the States Got Their Shape.
FRIDAY:  ALL Classes.  Complete Section 4.  Add key topics to notes.  Quiz on Section 4 on Monday.

MONDAY:  Section 4 Quiz.  Review Key Terms, People, and Key Topics.  Issue Ch. 12 Study Guide.  work on as Homework.  Study Gui9des will be checked in class.  Those not working on the study guide will have their quiz average for the chapter reduced!!

THURSDAY:  Test grades and Grades To Date for the 3rd Trimester.  Introduce Ch. 13, The South.

MONDAY:  1st-3rd Hours Turning Points Presentation.  4-6 hours: How the States Got Their Shapes DVD.
TUESDAY:  1-3 hrs. Turning Points Presentation.  4-6 Hours: How the States Got Their Shapes.
WEDNESDAY:  Begin Ch. 13, Section 1, pgs. 415-419.  Key Terms and People.  Read and discuss.
THURSDAY:  Complete Section 1.  Add Notes.  Vote on HW choices.  Complete Section Asssignment voted on.  Intro and begin Section 2, pgs. 420-423.  Key Terms.
FRIDAY:  Complete Section 2.  Students choose their own assignment for section and complete as HW.

WEEK OF APRIL 16-20, 2012

MONDAY:  Brief review of sections 1-2.  Begin Section 3, pgs. 424-429.  Copy key terms/people/ notes.  Begin reading.
TUESDAY:  Complete Section 3 reading and notes.  Choose HW assignment.  complete in class.  Issue ch. 13 Study Guide.
WEDNESDAY:  Work on Study Guide.  Check answers.
THURSDAY:  Ch. 13 Test.  When all are done, explain Ch. 15.
FRIDAY:  Issue Ch. 15 Packets and begin work.

WEEK OF APRIL 23-27, 2012

MONDAY:  Homework assignments due and Ch. 13 Test makeup.for D.C. Trip attendees.  All other will continue to work on the Ch. 15 Packets.  DC students who finish test will then have a Ch. 15 Packet issued and explained.
TUESDAY:  Ch. 15 Packet work.

WEEK OF APRIL 30-MAY 4, 2012

MONDAY:  Using class time, work on and complete Ch. 15 Packets.
TUESDAY:  Return and go over Ch. 15 Packets.  Introduce Ch. 16.
WEDNESDAY:  Begin Section 1, pgs. 510-516.  Read and then work on map, key terms, and some of the Q's as a class.
THURSDAY:  Check and go over Section 1 Info.  Begin Section 2, pgs. 517-521.  Read, key terms, and explain Section 2 work.
FRIDAY:  Complete Section 2 read, find info for key terms and complete rest of Section 2.  What is not done is homework, due Monday.

WEEK OF MAY 7-11, 2012

MONDAY:  Check Section 2 work from Ch. 16 Packet.  Go over answers.  Begin Section 3, pgs. 522-525.
TUESDAY:  Complete Read of Section 3.  Work on Key terms and Peop-le as a class.  Complete rest of Section 3 as Homework.
WEDNESDAY:  Check in Section 3 work and go over answers.  Begin Section 4, if time allows.  HALF DAY.
THURSDAY:  Begin/ /Complete Section 4, pgs. 528-534.  Read section as a class.  Complete Key Terms and people as a class.  Colmplete Section 4 Work as Homework.

MONDAY:  Work on completing Ch. 16, Sections 1-5 Packet.  Check in work not recorded for grade.  Go over answers not covered.
TUESDAY:  Check-in any and all work not graded.  Go over any answers not yet covered.  Issue Ch. 16 Study Guide.  Work on Study Guide.
WEDNESDAY:  Continue work on Ch. 16 Study guide.  Go over answers mid way through class.  As Homework, study for Ch. 16 Test.
